| dc.description.abstract | English was an international language and a means of communication between countries, but there are still many people who think English is a subject that was difficult to understand and learn. So that students' interest in learning English decreases. This thesis discusses Factors causing the Decline on Students' Interest Toward English Major Based on English Teachers' Perceptions. This research aims to find out how the Factors causing the Decline on Students' interest toward English Major Based on English Teachers' Perceptions. The type of the research was Qualitative Descriptive which focus on the decline in students' interest in learning English using observation, interview and documentation techniques. The source of information was English Teachers. The results of the research show that the view of English teachers regarding the decline on students' interest toward English major there are still many students who are less interested in learning English because they think English was a difficult lesson and their self-confidence were still lacking when given assignments by the teacher. There are some factors that influence students‟ interest, namely internal factors and external factors. As for internal factors, namely which were from the students themselves, such as the lack of motivation in english learning, laziness, lack of awarness on the benefits of english itse and sometimes bacause the method that used by the teacher was bored while teaching and learning, etc. And as for external factors, namely lack of support from family, school which includes several elements such as incomplete facilities and infrastructure, teachers, peers, and lack of time. | en_US |
